Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation

What is Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation

Non-surgical facial rejuvenation is a non-invasive procedure that helps to minimise the signs of ageing and skin problems such as uneven pigmentation and acne scars.

The skin’s youthful appearance is also affected by factors beyond ageing, such as over-exposure to the sun, pollution, smoking, stress and our diet. This can lead to a tired skin and the appearance of wrinkles, smokers lines, acne scars and uneven pigmentation.

Non-Surgical treatments diminish wrinkles and smooth out fine lines without the risk or inconvenience associated with a traditional facelift. They are also used enhance facial features such as augment lips and enhance facial contours.

At Dr Nurein’s clinics, we practice two methods of facial rejuvenation, Dermal Fillers and Botulinum Toxin (widely known as BOTOX® )

Botulinum Toxin (Botox®)

Botulinum toxin (more commonly referred to as Botox®) is a protein used to temporarily eradicate wrinkles and decrease the signs of ageing. The injections relax the muscle underneath the skin, which decreases the appearance of wrinkles and lines.

Main treatment areas for botulinum toxin treatments:

  • forehead
  • glabella
  • grow’s feet

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are a material made from hyaluronic acid (found naturally in the skin). Used to ‘fill in’ wrinkles and plump the skin, dermal fillers can instantly create a more youthful-looking appearance and improve the appearance of skin that is lacking volume or looking tired.

Main treatment areas for dermal fillers:

  • forehead lines
  • brow lines
  • under the eyes
  • bunny lines
  • nose
  • cheeks
  • lips
  • nasolabial folds
  • marionette lines
  • chin
  • jawline

Non Surgical Facial Rejuvenation Procedure

Our non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures are quick, often lasting just 30 minutes.

Before making the injections with an ultra-fine needle, your surgeon will apply numbing cream to the area, ensuring any pain is kept to a minimum.

You may experience slight discomfort but this should be minor and the procedure will be over quickly.

You may then experience a small amount of swelling following the treatment, but this should disappear within an hour or so.

Results

Results for dermal fillers can be seen immediately, whereas the effects of Botox® will become apparent within a couple of weeks.

However, the effects of both procedures are temporary, but you can expect results from Botox treatments to last up to six months and dermal fillers should last for up to 14 months.

Both procedures require little to no recovery time, however, you should try and avoid the sun for the rest of the day, and ensure you don’t rub or irritate the treated area.

Other than this, you should be able to carry on with your day, but do call us if you experience any pain or have any queries.
