If you’re contemplating a better chest, look no further than Dr Nurein. I’m 25 and i’ve had gyno since puberty - more overtly on my left chest. It’s been one of my biggest insecurities and this year I decided to take action.

I read lots of amazing reviews on Dr Nurein and decided on an initial consultation. He answered all my questions throughly and I was never in doubt with him. I decided to book in the surgery and secured an appointment the following month (insane I know).

Fast forward to surgery day, I was anxious but the team at the surgery made me feel at ease. The surgery itself is uncomfortable and strange but very manageable with little pain (I kept thinking of a better chest and thats what got me through).

And thats what I got, a better chest… actually a fantastic chest. Dr Nurein’s work has made be feel SO much more confident in myself and my body.

The recovery and post surgery is probably the most tedious part of the experience but again, super manageable. Expect 3/4 days of doing not much (which I didn’t complain about in the slightest, movies all day!) Again, minimal pain and some discomfort. The worst bit is the itchiness that comes with the healing. I’m now 11 days post surgery and i’m doing normal everyday tasks.

Ultimately, I couldn’t recommend Dr Nurein any more. Thank you doctor, you have changed my life!

What is gynecomastia?

Gynecomastia is enlarged male breast tissue; gyno means female, whereas mastia refers to breast, so gynecomastia is enlarged breast tissue in men, and it can range from puffy nipples to enlarged breast with excess skin.

Most commonly we don't find a reason and blood tests for hormone levels come back as normal, but physiologically meaning normally, one may have enlarged breast tissue at birth due to maternal hormones, during puberty when male hormone production is increased or old age when there is imbalance of male to female ratio likely due to changes in production or breakdown of male hormones.

Other causes of gynecomastia:

  • fullness in the chest due to fat deposits
  • genetic or hereditary reasons
  • obesity
  • use of androgenic drugs, androgenic steroids or prohormones
  • some prescription medication with side effects that cause gynecomastia
  • liver or testicular disease
  • rarely due to sinister causes like cancer of the breast or the pituitary a part of the brain.
